Why carbs?
Carbs are needed because they fuel your body, and it's recommended to consume them in the morning and no later than 3pm. Your metabolism is at it's peak during the early hours; therefore, consuming carbs early has a great impact on fat burning as opposed to consuming carbs past 3pm because that's when our metabolism begins to slow down.
When consuming carbs later in the day, it does have an effect on dropping weight and/or inches. It could either remain stagnant, or cause weight gain. See the list of healthy carbs.
P.S. Whole grains are naturally brown (complex carbs). White grains are bleached, aka manufactured, and breaks down into sugar (simple carbs). Consume simple carbs in moderation.
P.S.S. Add a couple of drops of olive or avocado oil to complex carbs makes the texture have less of an earth taste.
